Sacred Heart University has partnered with Yale New Haven Health’s Northeast Medical Group to provide student health care. 

Students have access to a wide range of world-class health care options, with all Bridgeport Hospital and Yale New Haven Health resources available, including telehealth for evening and weekend hours. Our Student Health Center is operated by Northeast Medical Group and staffed with clinicians who provide accessible, high-quality and cost-effective healthcare, serving the acute and chronic medical needs of SHU students. Comprehensive, family-focused services are offered in more than 100 specialties within a network of over 6,000 physicians.

• To schedule a visit at the Student Health Center, try our online scheduler or call 203-371-7838 during normal business hours (see summer 2025 hours below).
• If the Student Health Center is closed, an online appointment can be scheduled by visiting the 24/7 Virtual Care website or by scheduling a visit at one of our walk-in facilities.
• Need urgent care? Visit a nearby urgent care center with extended hours.

Summer 2025 Hours of Operation

Health services is open for sick visits from the week of June 2 through August 11 on Mondays and Thursdays only from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Semester Hours of Operation

All visits to our Student Health Center are by appointment only. It is necessary to call ahead of time at 203-371-7838.

• Monday through Friday: 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Closed for lunch 12:30-1 p.m.

Walk-in hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30-11:30 a.m. (first come, first served)

Note: Walk-ins are limited to sick visits and include flu/cold-like symptoms, UTIs, Pink Eye and stomach bugs. They do not include concussions, physicals, male/female reproductive health and/or sprains/broken bones. Please call ahead at 203-371-7838 to schedule these appointments.

• Weekends: Closed

For students who need an appointment between the hours of 5 - 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and including weekends, use the 24/7 Virtual Care option.

Location

The Student Health Center is located at Yale New Haven Health’s state-of-the-art Park Avenue Medical Center, located down the street from campus at 5520 Park Avenue, Suite WP1-700, Trumbull, CT 06611. Transportation is available through the SHU shuttle service.

Parking

Any SHU students who plan to drive themselves to the Student Health Center can park in any area designated for patients, which includes three surface lots and a free parking garage.
